Vertical Host Placer — families on CAD lines.
Work-plane and face-based families need a host. Vertical Host Placer builds a vertical reference plane along a linked or imported CAD line so the family can be placed in one click.
If Windows blocks the installer, download the ZIP, extract it, and run the MSI.
How it works
1. Pick the family
Choose a work-plane or face-based family to host on the CAD line.
2. Pick the CAD line
The add-in reads the curve from the link or import and orients a vertical host to it.
3. Place
The family sits on that host. Repeat along a run of CAD geometry.

Is it free?
Yes. No trial and no license key.
Does it work with linked CAD?
Yes. Linked DWG/DXF and imported CAD are both supported.
Which Revit versions are supported?
Revit 2025, 2026, and 2027 on Windows 10 and 11.
How do I install it?
Download the MSI, run it, then restart Revit. Choose Always Load once. Later updates install in the background.
Will Revit ask Always Load on every update?
Only after the first install. Later updates install in the background.
