Ibrooni / Biruscan

Scan-to-BIM · architecture, structure, and MEP

Biruscan — scan-to-BIM in Revit.

Work on native RCP and RCS point clouds inside Autodesk Revit. Clip the cloud, extract floor plans, fit walls, steel, and windows, then place pipes, ducts, and trays. Convert and connect those networks. Complimentary until 1 January 2027; then $50 per user per year or $5 per month.

If Windows blocks the installer, download the ZIP, extract it, and run the MSI.

Architecture

Walls, windows, floor plans, and section boxes from the same scan.

Structure

Steel fitter places beams and columns (I, HSS, channel) on scanned members.

MEP networks

Pipes, ducts, conduits, and cable trays — plus converter, operations, and fittings.

Ribbon · Project

Project

Save clipping work as a .bclip file and reopen it on the same cloud.

Open Clip

Load a saved clipping state and groups from a .bclip file and apply them to the current point cloud.

Save Clip

Write the active cuts and groups to a .bclip file so the same isolation can be restored later.

Ribbon · Clipping

Clipping

Cuts the point cloud itself, not only the Revit view.

Rectangular

Two-corner rectangular crop through the cloud, full height.

Polygonal

Arbitrary polygon (three or more vertices) as a clip boundary.

Horizontal Slice

Slice the cloud as a floor or ceiling cut at a picked elevation.

Vertical Slice

Slice along a reference line for a vertical section through the scan.

Slice Forward / Backward

Step the active slice along its normal so you can walk through a storey or a corridor.

Manager

List, apply, and delete clipping groups and section planes in one window.

Clear Cuts

Remove every active clip and section box and restore the full cloud.

Ribbon · View

View

How the scan looks while you model.

Visibility Toggle

Show or hide point clouds, modeled MEP, and architectural reference layers in the current view.

Rendering

True color, intensity (reflectivity), elevation, heat map (blue→red by height with min/max), and normals. Cycle cloud size High / Medium / Smallest for performance.

Section Box

Fit a 3D section box around a selection or a region of interest on the cloud.

Ribbon · Floor Plan

Floor plan

Floor Plan Tool

Pick an elevation on the scan and extract a 2D plan: wall centerlines and room boundaries from that slice. Use it before wall fitting.

Ribbon · Fitter Tools

Fitters — architecture, steel, and MEP

Each fitter places native Revit elements on the cloud. Walls, steel, and windows are first-class tools, not add-ons to MEP.

Wall Fitter

Fit architectural walls to planar surfaces in the scan (two-point or region grow).

Window Fitter

Detect openings in fitted walls and place windows or doors.

Steel Fitter

Fit structural beams and columns — I-beams, HSS, channels — to scanned members.

Pipe Fitter

Place parametric pipes from cylindrical clusters in the cloud.

Duct Fitter

Extract rectangular and round HVAC ducts from scanned runs.

Cable Tray Fitter

Fit electrical cable trays and conduit runs to the scan.

Generate MEP

Ibrooni System Fit: geometric circular kernel with source-support checks. Places measured pipe and conduit runs and validated fittings from the cloud or a clip.

Fitter Settings

Preferred types for pipe, duct, and cable tray used by the fitters.

Ribbon · AI Tools

AI

AI Generate MEP

3D vision plus the Ibrooni System Fit geometric kernel for piping and conduit. Standard and trained pipelines for ducts and trays.

Train AI

Capture a supervised dataset from your modeling. Active learning watches fitter and MEP operations so later runs match office types and diameters.

Ribbon · MEP Tools

Converter

Switch a modeled run from one system type to another without redrawing it. Works on pipes, round ducts, and conduits.

Round duct → Pipe

Turn a round duct run into pipe, keeping the path.

Pipe → Round duct

The reverse conversion when the scan should be HVAC, not piping.

Pipe → Conduit

Recast a pipe network as electrical conduit.

Conduit → Pipe

Recast conduit as pipe when the discipline was guessed wrong.

Ribbon · Operation

Operations

Trim and connect across pipes, ducts, conduits, and cable trays, or stretch a run so connected fittings and pipes move with it.

Elbow

Connect two runs with an elbow from the curve type’s existing routing preferences. Native elbow first, then dummy. Does not add an elbow rule when that list is empty.

Tee

Connect a branch to a main, or join three runs at a junction. Native tee first, then dummy or takeoff. Anchored far ends stay on axis.

Union

Join two runs with a union or coupling. Searches a workable angle, then seats open ends on the family connectors.

Reducer

Join two sizes with a reducer or transition while keeping distinct axes. Same far-end shield as Union.

Unify

Merge two collinear pipes into one continuous pipe. Refuses the merge if it would move or disconnect an anchored end.

Cross

Place a four-run cross, or add a branch onto an existing tee/cross, without moving network anchors.

Auto

From a window or Ctrl+click selection, place union, reducer, tee, cross, or elbow as the geometry requires.

Stretch

Along Axis: two signed sliders (−max to +max) grow or shorten each end; connected fittings and pipes move with it. Along Plane: one signed slider offsets the run in the connected fittings’ plane; adjacent pipes stretch and far ends stay. Along Plane is disabled when fittings have different bend angles or do not share one plane. Maximum defaults to 5 m in the project length unit.

Ribbon · Fittings

Fittings

Draw stubs and directional elbows from open connectors, or stretch a run along its axis.

Pull

From selected equipment or fixtures, pull stubs from every open connector.

Elbow Up / Down / Left / Right

90° elbow at the open end, in that world direction.

Elbow 45° (four directions)

Same as above at 45° elevation or plan angle.

Elbow Custom

Custom bend angle and axial rotation at the open end, with a Step control (default 1°) so both sliders move in that increment.

Increment

Stretch a pipe, duct, conduit, or cable tray along its axis. Two sliders move each end independently. The maximum increment box (to the right of both sliders) defaults to 5 m, shown in the project length unit (feet if the project is in feet).

Settings

Stub lengths, elbow extension lengths, and default fitting types.

FAQ

What does Biruscan cover?

Scan-to-BIM for architecture, steel, and MEP. Clipping, floor plans, walls, steel, and windows sit next to pipe, duct, and tray fitters. Converter and Operation work on those networks after they are placed.

What does Converter change?

Round duct ↔ pipe, and pipe ↔ conduit. The path stays; the category and system type change.

Which networks do operations run on?

Elbow, tee, union, reducer, unify, cross, and auto run on pipes, ducts, conduits, and cable trays.

Which Revit versions are supported?

Revit 2020 through 2027. The installer asks which years to include and whether to install for one user or the whole machine.

How do I install it?

Download the MSI, run it, then restart Revit. Choose Always Load once. Later updates install in the background and apply when Revit closes.

Will Revit ask Always Load on every update?

Only after the first install. Later updates install in the background.

What happens on 1 January 2027?

Biruscan stays free through 31 December 2026. From 1 January 2027 UTC every command locks unless a SCAN key has been assigned in Ibrooni Admin and activated on that PC. If a key is never assigned, the add-in stays locked.
